Love to Eat/Hate to Eat Book Discussion: Chapter 2, Question 2

(It's Friday already??)

What change is God most interested in accomplishing in you? What verses in the book of Romans affirm this? Write out these verses here:

He wants me to become conformed to the image of His son.

Romans 8:28-29:
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."

I love what Elyse says about verse 28..all things working together for good. If you have the book, go look it up. It's very encouraging!

I can't even begin to start thinking about the question this week. Life is jsut all over the place, and I'm so tired and fragile and confused.
But that verse was just what I needed to hear. Life is just too much at the moment, but to hear that in ALL things God is working together for my good, reminds me that God is holding me in his hand.
He's never gonna let me go, and he loves me. And all the stuff that's going on right now isn't just meaningless stuff, but it has a purpose.

It is such an encouragement to me that you have been encouraged, Debs! I am praying for you.

Brandi, this verse says to me that I don't have to kill myself to conform - that God is working this out in me and I only have to be willing. He gives me all I need.

I said to a sister this weekend that I believe God is working on contentment with me. She responded that she was pretty sure that was really what God is working on in all of us.

Seems like that could be true. :)

I really had not thought of it that way before, Missy. That is so cool! And so true!

I like that He foreknew all of my sin and all of my obedience. I like that He does not excuse my sin but not only expects but also provides a way for me to be conformed to the image of His Son.
