Check In Here

It's technically Tuesday night, but we will be leaving really early for a homeschool field trip, so I am putting this up tonight.

If you are taking part in the 21 day habit challenge, please say so in the comments. Also, let us know how things go the next few days by commenting here. We want to encourage each other.

As I stated before, mine is as follows: For the next 21 days, I will sit down to eat without trying to do anything else at the same time.

With God, all things are possible! Good night!

Hello. Great blog by the way! I am ready to go with your healthy habit challenge! I have been very remiss in taking my vitamins. I have seen the importance of vitamins to supplement in my own life. However, I've gotten out of the habit. My healthy habit for this month is to take my vitamins EVERY day!

I’m in!
I did something like this when my minister challenged us to give something up for Lent a few years ago. I gave up saying bad things about Bush. I had no idea how many bad thoughts crossed my mind. Watching the news was a killer for me. My friend standing up at dinner and yelling four more years made me laugh, it also showed me how I can keep my mouth shut.

So hear it is:

When I first started my job I never spoke ill of anyone. One of my bosses told me that he loved that about me because the only time he had ever heard me complain was when I felt that we weren’t doing right by my customers. I love a lot of my people and several seek me out. One made a special trip back in one day just to tell me he was now cancer free. He saw me as he was leaving and rushed through the other doors to find me. He knew I was concerned and praying. I love those good folks. Still I find on days like today when I didn’t get my lunch break and got off late ( I have to pick up my daughter on time) wanting to really let loose. I chose not to today because of the circumstances. I’m going to try my best to realize that we are God’s children and we are only doing our best. I hope I get a break tomorrow ;-}

Hey Brandi, Sorry to take so long to get on board with this. I've been thinking it over and praying about it and I think that the most important habit I need to form right now is checking to make sure that the kids have done their chores. This means actually going upstairs and checking on them as soon as they are finished. Not being consistent with this has really been sapping my joy. I need to do a little more "tomato staking" - in other words I need to have them work beside me more so that they know exactly what to do. Sorry that this isn't food related. I’ll going to post more on this on my blog when I have time.

I did it. I sat to dinner with the family last night. I wish I could say I got instant gratification and it was wonderful - but I was impatient, overly critical of manners, and we all left the table wishing I had eaten somewhere else.

I'm going to try to pray about it before I sit down tonight.

How's your new habit coming along, Brandi?
